IMPORTANCE OF TREES
Trees are men's best friends from the onset of civilization. Trees provide us a lot of things including oxygen, without which no living creature can exist. We exhale carbon dioxide and inhale oxygen. Carbon dioxide is a pollutant of our environment. Trees absorb this carbon dioxide as their food and instead, they give out oxygen. Humans and other living creatures inhale this oxygen. Thus trees are our lifeblood. From trees, we can get other benefits as well. We get fruits from trees. Trees and plants satisfy our eyes with their natural beauty. Flowers are now being cultivated on a commercial basis. We make various kinds of furniture like chairs, tables, almirahs, etc from the wood that comes from trees. Trees maintain ecological balance by providing shelter and food to the birds and other animals. Bees make hives in trees and from the beehives we get honey. The rural people grow fruit trees. They sell a lot of their surplus fruits. They sell a good amount of timber. Thus they can contribute to the rural economy. Thus trees provide so many things for us and they are as such, our real friends. So, we should plant trees more and more. We should increase public awareness about the importance of trees. The government distributes saplings to the public free of cost. Roadside trees are planted to beautify the roads and to purify the air. Considering the importance of trees we must take proper care of them and stop damaging them unwisely.
