GLOBAL WARMING

Global warming is the gradual warming of the air surrounding the earth as a result of heat being trapped by environmental pollution. Temperatures around the earth are rising up for various reasons. The main culprits for global warming, however, are carbon dioxide gas, produced by the burning of fossil fuels and forests, and pollutants such as methane and chlorofluorocarbons. More and more industrialization and urbanization are contributing to the process of producing these carbon-related gases. Climatologists predict that if the world's temperatures keep on rising humans will face serious disasters. Global warming will catastrophically reduce mankind's ability to grow food, destroy or severely damage wildlife and wilderness, raise sea levels and thereby flood coastal areas and farmland. There is a great threat of global warming for the people of Bangladesh. As a result of global warming if the sea level rises up Bangladesh may go underwater because Bangladesh is a low-lying country. However, global warming has become a burning issue for the people of the world community. It is high time to organize international meetings and seminars on the issue and take steps to reduce the intensity of global warming.
