A BOOK FAIR / MY VISIT TO A BOOK FAIR
A book fair is an exhibition where a huge number of books are displayed and sold. In Bangladesh, book fairs are held usually in the month of February. Although book fairs are held in many places of Bangladesh now, the most attractive and largest book fair is organized in Dhaka on the Bangla Academy premises. This book fair popularly known as Ekushey Boi Mela opens on the 1st of February and continues till the end of February. It is exceptionally popular. Almost all the well-known publishers in the country try to take part in this fair. They exhibit and advertise their books and try to attract customers to buy them. Almost all kinds of books are displayed in a book fair. But novels, poetry, short stories, science fiction, and children's books are sold more. I am very fond of books, especially novels and poetry. Usually, I do not miss the opportunity of visiting a book fair. Last February I had the opportunity to visit the Ekushey Boi Mela. I have a very positive feeling about this fair. A book fair plays a vital role to introduce us to the world of books. It spreads knowledge by encouraging and inspiring us to read books more and more. To conclude, We should visit book fairs and try to enlighten ourselves by reading books.
